Sarto Cima: Where the Road Ends

The Veneto atelier introduces its most refined road frame yet. Lighter, more responsive, and shaped by two decades of working with carbon fiber, not just on it.

Sarto Bikes announces the Cima, a new road frame that draws from both the Seta Plus and Raso platforms to create something that stands apart from either. Built entirely in-house at the brand’s Veneto workshop, the Cima is available immediately in unidirectional carbon, with tri-composite and Forged Carbon versions to follow.

The name says what the bike is for.

Cima: Italian for peak, summit, top. The Cima is Sarto’s answer to a question the workshop has been working toward for years: what happens when two of the best road frames the atelier has built are distilled into one?

Every letter in the name carries a meaning. Together, they describe how a Sarto is made and why it rides the way it does.

C. Create.  Everything on the Cima originates in-house: the geometry, the carbon layup, the frame itself. No element is outsourced, no stage handed off. The geometry is developed around the rider’s body, not an object to be steered, but a structure built around a person.

I. Interaction.  Sarto frames are built for what Enrico calls dialogue, the back-and-forth between riders’ input and frame response. Stiffness, power transfer, and vibration damping are tuned not as isolated variables but as a system, with the goal of a ride that feels intuitive rather than engineered.

M. Material.  The Cima takes a singular approach to raw material. Carbon fibers are not simply laid for structural effect, their behavior at the surface is considered part of the frame’s visual identity. The result is a material language that reflects, literally, how the bike was made.

A. Ascension.  More control, more stability, more comfort as outcomes of the same construction decisions. The summit, in Sarto’s framing, is not a destination. It is a standard.

The Frame: Lighter Where It Counts

The SARTO Cima is built around new carbon fibers that allow Sarto’s workshop to reduce tube-wall thickness precisely where the frame can afford it without touching the sections that carry the load. The result is a frame that loses weight without losing integrity: stiffer where it needs to be, lighter everywhere else, and more aerodynamic than its predecessor at the head tube, down tube, and seat tube.

And crucially, a frame that feels lighter than the spec sheet suggests because in Sarto’s construction method, the numbers are only part of the story.

Tube-to-Tube: The Philosophy Behind the Feel

Like every Sarto, the Cima is built tube-to-tube. Tubes are formed individually, lugs are wrapped by hand, and the assembly is bonded at junctions saturated with a specific resin. It is a construction method with a direct effect on how vibration travels (or doesn’t travel) through the frame. A monocoque carries vibration in a continuous loop from road to the hands. A tube-to-tube frame stops it at the junctions. The Cima is quiet in the wrong places and alive in the right ones.

“A monocoque is a kind of continuous loop: vibration enters at the contact patch, travels up the stays, round the bottom bracket, along the top tube, and into your hands and back. On a tube-to-tube frame the vibrations reach a point, and they stop.” — Enrico Sarto, founder

Geometry: Evolved Endurance, Race Character

Like every Sarto the Cima is available in custom geometry, shaped around the rider from the first line drawn. In its standard form, it occupies a category of its own: a true evolved Endurance bike with a clear Race character. Higher stack, shorter reach, short and very stiff chain stays. A rear end that responds immediately. A position that is sustainable over long days and fast when conditions demand it. The dropped top tube reconciles comfort and acceleration, not as a compromise, but as a design outcome.

The Diamond: Aesthetic and Aerodynamic

The head tube is not round. The downtube is not round. Both carry flat faces meeting at soft edges a diamond profile, a word Enrico chose deliberately. The shape came from an aesthetic instinct first and then turned out to work aerodynamically too. The aerodynamic tuning is real but kept in proportion: the Cima has been quietly, intelligently aero-tuned where the tuning costs nothing and left alone where it would.

“Diamond is the inspiration. When I started to make the drawing, the inspiration was the diamond especially for these two tubes. I wanted a shape that didn’t look like a student project.” — Enrico Sarto

New Integrated Cockpit

The Cima debuts a new integrated cockpit with a hidden-screw system and dedicated top cap and spacers. The -8° stem angle places the rider precisely where performance demands. Bar width is 38cm and 40cm at the hoods as standard. Riders requiring wider bars can run any compatible option, the headset is standard enough to accommodate them.

One Roof. No Compromises.

Like every bike, the SARTO Cima is born, shaped, and finished entirely under one roof in the Veneto. From mold design to final quality control, every hand that touches the frame belongs to the workshop. Full control over the process means full responsibility for the result and a level of precision that no outsourced production line can replicate.

The materials reflect the same thinking. Sarto’s carbon suppliers are long-standing Italian partners chosen for quality and close enough to the workshop that the conversation never stops.

“This is how a Sarto gets made not from a PowerPoint deck, not from a marketing brief. From a long conversation between someone who has been working with carbon fiber for twenty-five years and the people who produce it.” — Enrico Sarto

SARTO CIMA available in five colors. None of them wrong.

The Cima palette draws from the alpine landscape: color not as decoration, but as memory of a place. Each finish tells you something you already know, even if you haven’t ridden it yet.

Amber Ridge

Warm, mineral. The color of sun-baked rock at dusk, of dry August dust. A gold with nothing showy about it, the color of the earth beneath your tyres.

Zenith Cyan

Electric blue. The sky above 2,000 metres, where the air thins and the light takes on a different intensity. Bold, sharp, unmistakable.

Glacial Depth

Deep petrol green. The color of an alpine lake in afternoon shadow, of water that never quite warms through. Understated, dense, rare.

Stellar Silver

Refined silver. A precise choice. The natural complement to carbon, the quiet signature of someone who already knows what they want.

Summit Ruby

Deep burgundy, almost wine-dark. The color of those who reach the top when everyone else has already come down. Strong without being loud.

AVAILABILITY

The unidirectional Cima is available now. Tri-composite and Forged Carbon versions follow with new colors and fabric patterns. The Cima is available through Sarto’s network of authorized partners.
