As an E-Bike Positive retailer, service centre, our business, staff and mechanics have committed to the ensuing best practice:
- To sell only road legal e-bikes that are safety-tested. They should be from trusted suppliers. They must come with full safety information and user instructions.
- To repair only road legal e-bikes.
- To repair or modify e-bikes only in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
- To ensure that after any repair or modification, the e-bike can be charged and used safely. If this cannot be guaranteed, to refuse to do the work.
- To supply only safety-tested chargers and batteries from trusted suppliers.
- Supply only chargers, batteries, and other components. Ensure they are documented to be compatible with each other and the e-bike where they will be used.
- To supply chargers and/or batteries with full safety information and user instructions.
Please note that we can only service and repair electric bikes from reputable brands. If you bought your electric bike from an online marketplace, we can’t work on it. The same applies to auction sites. The main reason is the increased fire risk linked to these bikes. Our insurance does not allow us to work on them. We apologise for any inconvenience.

What E-bike brands do you stock?
We stock electric bikes from Raleigh, Haibike, Wilier, Basso, Frappe and MBM.
What servicing does an electric bike need?
Most electric bikes would need an electronic diagnostic and motor unit service inspection at least once a year. E-bikes are heavier than conventional bikes, so would need more routine maintenance on the components like brakes and gearing. We are industry approved and insured service for electric and nonelectric bikes.
How often should an electric bike be serviced?
E-bike servicing intervals largely depend on usage. For example, an e-bike that is ridden year round and in all conditions would need more electric bike maintenance. This is because drivetrain components and brakes are likely to wear out more often. At the least, we would recommend your electric bike is serviced once a year. An electric bike shop full service is recommended
What maintenance electric bike battery is needed?
E-bike batteries ideally should be charged at room temperature. Electric bike batteries are sensitive to temperature extremes, and this can affect their range. Most manufacturers recommend charging between 60-80% of its highest capacity. You should do this if you are not using the bike for an extended period. This includes times like the winter months.
When should I service my new e-bike?
We recommend a new electric bike check after the 6 weeks. Parts bed in during this time and may require adjustments. After that we would recommend that your e-bike is serviced every 6 to 12 months.
Which E-bike motors are you authorised or approved to work on?
We are authorised and approved by the following manufacturers, Bosch, Oli, Sportdrive, Fazua, Bafang, Mahle, Yamaha, Boost and Polini.
Do you carry out e-bike servicing on any electric bike?
We can only carry out e-bike servicing on approved electric bikes from reputable brands. E-bike servicing is not available on bikes which have been modified, chipped, altered, or has unapproved or unverified equipment fitted. We reserve the right to refuse service. We can decline any e-bike that does not meet industry standards in our opinion. This includes safety, compliance, and risk.
Do you convert non electric bikes to electric bikes?
Yes, we have partnered with Boost Bikes. Our e-bike conversion service is incredibly popular. Customers have been very happy because they can continue to ride the bike they love. We can supply and install the Boost electric bike conversion kit to most bikes. Please get in touch with us if you would like to find out more.
How much does it cost for e-bike servicing?
Our basic service is £85, but depending on usage you might find you need a Silver or Gold Service.
Is cycle to work available on electric bikes?

E-Bike Bronze Service
This service is a tune-up recommended every 3-6 months, based on your bike’s usage and conditions.
Suitable for any bike which is clean and has been well maintained.
- Bike Check is completed to BSI EN 15194 standard
- Bike Inspection to make the bike roadworthy
- Check all bolts, handlebar and stem assembly. Tighten all bolts to the recommended torque setting
- Check frame and forks for damage and wear
- Safety check (complying with industry guidelines)
- Gears checked, tuned and re-aligned (front and rear)
- Check condition of headset
- Brake disc/calipers inspected and adjusted
- Drivetrain checked for wear and condition clean and lubricate

E-Bike Silver Service
This service is recommended every 6-9 months based on your bike’s usage and conditions.
- All elements of The Bronze Service plus
- Gears checked, tuned and re-aligned (front and rear)
- Brakes checked, tuned and re-aligned (front and rear)
- Drivetrain inspected removed, de-greased, serviced and refitted including chainset, bottom bracket, chain, cassette, derailleurs and pedals (parts replaced if worn*)
- Wheels trued
- Headset inspected and re-greased as required
- Wheel hubs inspected and re-greased as required

E-Bike Full Service Gold
This is a full service we recommend every 12-18 months, depending on the number of riding hours completed.
- We finish all work in our Bronze and Silver Service
- Strip the frame down and check for damage, fault or alignment issues
- All threads cleaned and tapped if required
- All non e-bike/e-motor/drive unit parts stripped down and inspected, de-greased and cleaned
- Reassembly of the E-Bike according to manufacturers specification
- Components lubricated and/or greased where specified/required
- Cables replaced (parts are extra)
- Hydraulic fluid change (if required)
- Software/Firmware Update and Battery Capacity Check (if system allows it)
- Bike wash & valet

E-Bike servicing Diagnostics, Software and Battery
The Electronic system is the heart of an efficient and smooth running E-Bike. A regular check ensures your Electric Bike is in good condition. It is reliable for your journey.
E-Bike System Diagnostic Check
A full system check and diagnostics process occurs. This process enables quick identification of issues. It ensures these issues are not a cause for concern. The process also ensures all E-Bike Software runs optimally.

Hibernation Preparation Service
Check all aspects of your bike. Then, use protective lubricants and waxes. This ensures that your E-Bike does not deteriorate over a period of not being used. Also includes a battery hibernation preparation, includes a spring time recommissioning service.

Software/Firmware Update, E-Bike System Diagnostics and Battery Capacity Check
We check your electric bike to diagnose any issues with any aspect of the electronic system and connected hardware. Then we run the latest software/firmware updates for your E-Bike. We follow this with a battery capacity check. After completing all of these checks, we give a report. We also give guidance on how you can keep your battery and E-Bike system in good shape. This ensures continued reliability and optimizes your battery capacity. We suggest doing this at least once a year. This ensures your system is running the latest enhancements and updates.E-bike battery life and capacity can reduce over time. By performing this service you can be confident that you will get the best from your E-Bike.

Hydraulic Brake Overhaul
Brakes, wheels, and tyres are the most important items. They give you confidence and control in all conditions. It is important to keep them to a high standard. This way, you can be confident of riding safely. We finish an oil change, seal and pad replacement if required and readjustment and calibration.
